Start with fabric that does not turn into a wet towel, a leg long enough to sit on the thigh, and a waistband that lies flat. Size for the thigh as much as the waist. Too loose climbs; too tight also climbs.

How to choose men's underwear
The grid above is the line. This is the short version of what to look for: fabric, length, and whether the opening stays on the thigh.
Boxer brief vs trunk
A trunk is a shorter boxer brief. Choose the 3-inch Booie Trunk for less coverage, or the 6-inch Booie Boxer for more coverage through the thigh. Both use the same soft TENCEL™ Modal knit.
Why modal in humid weather
Cotton is fine until it is wet. Polyester dries fast and can feel slick after a full office day. Modal sits in the middle: a plant-based hand feel, less damp weight than cotton. That is why Booie is knitted from 60s TENCEL™ Modal.
Fit, inseam and sizing
The opening should hug the thigh without leaving a groove. If short underwear has been riding up for years, a longer inseam is usually more useful than another brand in the same short cut. Between sizes, the thigh decides.
Care
Cold wash, no fabric softener, low heat or a line. Softener and high heat are what flatten the stretch in the legs.

- What is the difference between men's underwear styles?
- Briefs leave the thigh bare. Trunks are short boxer briefs. Boxer briefs add a few inches of leg so the cloth can sit still and keep thighs from rubbing. Loose boxers move more air and also more fabric.
- Is modal underwear better for Hong Kong weather?
- For commuting and office days, usually yes. Modal does not hold as much damp weight as cotton. It is not a substitute for a running brief.
- How should I size boxer briefs?
- Fit the thigh, not only the waist. If the legs bag, size down. If they leave deep marks or feel stretched tight, size up. Between sizes, the larger size is often more comfortable.
- How do I wash modal underwear?
- Machine wash cold with similar colours. Skip bleach and fabric softener. Tumble dry low or line dry.
